Description
Passion for Justice tells the compelling story of Drs. John and Vera Mae Perkins, integral leaders in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's and an evangelical voice for community development and racial reconciliation.. As a pastor in 1960's Mississippi, John Perkins first focused exclusively on evangelism and Bible literacy, but he soon came to the conviction that Gospel ministry must address both spiritual and physical needs. In 1969 he helped lead an economic boycott of segregated businesses, an action that led to his arrest and torture by local police.. Today Perkins is an internationally known author and teacher, promoting biblical principles of justice and holistic Gospel ministry.. This documentary tells the story of John Perkins, his wife Vera Mae, and their family. Their very personal reflections on life and ministry provide countless points of spiritual insight and challenge..
