Description
This course begins with a unifying overview of the Universe that provides a broad context into which we place the objects of our planetary system. It then divides into four overlapping portions. First, explore the moving Earth and the layout of the sky to probe the meanings of the day, the year, the seasons, and the earthly views of the Moon, stars, planets, and constellations. Second, examine the physical laws the control what we see and look at how we learn the natures of the physical bodies. Third, in the heart of the course, examine the planets themselves. The final segment unifies them all and shows what we have learned of the solar system's creation.
