"Prelude of war" originally issued as the first of "Why we fight", a series of seven information films shown to American servicemen.
Description
"Prelude of war", a famous propaganda piece used as a US Army training film, demonstrates how the polical mistakes made the end of WWI eventually led ot WWII. "Normandy invasion", photographed by US Coast Guards, delves into the intricacies of planning D-day, as well as the crossing of the English Channel, the weather that challenged Eisenhower's plans, and the number of soldiers, naval vessels, ships and aircrafts that took part in the invasion. "Battle of France" is a detailed depiction of the American 82nd and 101st airborne divisions dropping into the Cotentin Peninsula, as well as the American 1st division at Omaha Beach.
