Description
Carlota Guillen vive en Querétaro con su madre, Bernarda, y su hermana mayor, Eugenia. De joven, Bernarda se enamoró de Leopoldo, un joven millonario de Guadalajara, y tuvieron a Carlota. Pero Leopoldo tuvo otro hijo, Román, quien al enterarse de que su padre dividió su herencia entre él y las hijas de Bernarda, ideó una venganza en su contra. Carlota conoce a Álvaro Ibáñez, un joven y apuesto doctor de la Ciudad de México y se enamoran. Tiene un hermano, Adrián, que planea hacerla la vida imposible. Pero Bernarda sabe que tendrá que darles el dinero a sus hijas en el momento en que se casen, por lo que evita que tengan cualquier contacto con los hombres. Sin embargo, Román enamora a Eugenia y la deja embarazada, muriendo ella al dar a luz por complicaciones en el parto. Supuestamente el niño muere también, pero la realidad es que está vivo. Álvaro cree que es Carlota la que muere, y desconsolado, se va a vivir a Morelos con sus padres. Ahí conoce a Cordelia Portugal, quien es idéntica a Carlota, y tomando ventaja sobre este gran parecido se hace pasar por "La otra."
Description
Devastated by the death of his true love, Carlota, Dr. Alvaro Ibanez moves to the country. He meets and marries the gold-digging Cordelia who is the image of Carlota. Alvaro finds himself in the middle of a love triangle when Carlota is found to be alive.
