In the fifth season, Mary and her eccentric friends weather a few storms, sometimes literally. As if her love life isn't challenging enough, Mary takes a shot at producing the news and even has a brush with the law. Laughs are the lead story when a consultant turns the newsroom upside down. Lou becomes Mary's neighbor and Ted starts a rumor that he and Mary are dating.
