On a skiing vacation in Europe, Gerge and Marion Kerby were tapped in an avalanche along with their would-be rescuer, a St. Bernard named Neil. All three died, only to return to the United States to haunt their former home, now occupied by a grumpy and uptight banker named Cosmo Topper. Only Topper could hear and see the friendly ghosts who would try to help him loosen up and enjoy life, but more often all they did was complicate it!

In "Second Honeymoon," Mr. & Mrs. Topper spend their anniversay in a haunted inn, appropriately enough.

In "Trip to Lisbon," Topper's business trip to South Carolina becomes an international spy game for the ghosts.

In "Topper goes West," when Topper's boss sends him to New Mexico for work, he has to prove himself as a top cowboy.

In "A Ghostly Joke," aka "Sweepstakes," when the ghosts make Topper think he's won $800,000, he quits his job and the trouble begin.
